Case Study: Superannuation Advisers

CLIENT

The industry super fund, MTAA, recently engaged Kaizen Recruitment to identify and secure multiple Superannuation Advisers across major cities Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to support and grow the funds membership base through the provision of general and limited advice.

CHALLENGE

The management team at MTAA spent time with Kaizen providing a comprehensive brief of requirements both on the technical aspects of the role as well as the type of person who would best fit the business. The ideal candidate would need to have demonstrated financial advisory experience within the financial services industry, relevant qualifications and equally important was the need to find people with a passion and energy for helping everyday Australians secure their financial future.

Prior to the commencement of the search process, Kaizen consulted with and provided guidance to MTAA regarding the candidate market and more specifically about the varied and relevant channels we could access in sourcing suitable candidates. There was also the challenge of securing the commitment of our preferred candidates during the holiday season with a target start date of mid-February.

Kaizen Recruitment ran a multi-pronged search assignment mapping out quality candidates across the Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne market, which included proactively approaching suitable professionals in a targeted and confidential manner to position the opportunity. Given the seasonal and timeframe challenges, the dedicated team at Kaizen worked together to source, screen, interview, prepare and facilitate a strong shortlist of candidates.

Together, Kaizen and MTAA worked through each candidate on their individual merits before committing to a 2-stage interview process. Only through genuine client partnership and candidate management were Kaizen able to manage this assignment in facilitating a timely, seamless recruitment and onboarding process.

Philip Dzawo was appointed to the position of Superannuation Adviser for the Melbourne location and Lahm Le was appointed to the same role for the Brisbane location.

Philip was previously performing a similar role within the industry super space while Lahm’s experience was from within the banking and wealth management sectors as a financial planner.
