Australia’s leading independent property investment advisory firm, Metropole, engaged Kaizen Recruitment on an exclusive recruitment assignment to identify and secure an experienced Group Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial management, reporting and monitoring across all group entities.

CHALLENGE

In collaboration with the directors at Metropole, we formed a comprehensive brief of requirements both on the technical aspects of the role as well as the type of person who would best fit the business. The ideal candidate would need to demonstrate financial and management accounting experience within the property, legal and/or financial services sectors over a minimum 10-year period.

Prior to the commencement of the search process, Kaizen consulted with and provided guidance to Metropole regarding the candidate market and more specifically about the level of seniority that would be required to deliver upon the expectations of this role.

SOLUTION

Kaizen ran a multi-pronged search assignment mapping out quality candidates across the property sector and financial services market, which included proactively approaching suitable professionals in a targeted and confidential manner to position the opportunity.

Our longlist included eight highly capable and qualified GCFO’s from over 100 applicants.

Together, Kaizen and Metropole worked through the longlist before arriving to a shortlist of four candidates.  A two-staged interview process ensued with the final two candidates meeting a total of four Metropole staff, including CEO, Michael Yardney.

Only through genuine client partnership and candidate management were Kaizen able to manage a sensitive assignment in facilitating a timely, seamless recruitment and onboarding process.

RESULT

Ramez Khalil was appointed to the position as Metropole’s new GCFO reporting into CEO, Michael Yardney.

Khalil’s previous positions included Chief Financial Officer with both Reed Property Group and Tonnex International.
