{"id":15127,"date":"2018-07-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-07-19T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kaizen.ap.applyflow.com\/kaizen-s-hr-round-table-employee-value-proposition-dominates-discussion\/"},"modified":"2022-09-21T06:37:50","modified_gmt":"2022-09-21T06:37:50","slug":"kaizen-s-hr-round-table-employee-value-proposition-dominates-discussion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kaizenrecruitment.com.au\/kaizen-s-hr-round-table-employee-value-proposition-dominates-discussion\/","title":{"rendered":"Kaizen\u2019s HR Round Table \u2013 Employee Value Proposition Dominates Discussion!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kaizen Recruitment hosted its first HR Luncheon last week which was chaired by Johanna Neilsen, former Executive Manager, People &amp; Culture at Cbus.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the lunch was to bring together professional, like-minded individuals in an open environment to share and discuss hot topics that impact upon their people in the workplace.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 99%;\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-01.cms-ap-v2i.applyflow.com\/kaizen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/web-res-kaizen-recruitment-hr-lunch.jpg\" alt=\"Kaizen Recruitment HR Luncheon\" \/><br \/>\nIn attendance was a cross section of HR professionals from the Managed Funds, Superannuation and Wealth Management sectors.<\/p>\n<h3>The discussion around the table included:<\/h3>\n<p>\u2022 diversity in the workplace (gender, cultural and experience)<br \/>\n\u2022 staff attrition (both positive and negative)<br \/>\n\u2022 work\/life balance and flexible work arrangements<br \/>\n\u2022 technology in the workplace (CRM\u2019s, data collection\/reporting)<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the agenda items discussed, it was an opportunity for some delegates to (re)connect with peers within and across the financial services sector.\u00a0 For others, it was a realisation that many of the daily operational and long-term strategic challenges they face in their workplace, are in fact, not isolated and exist at an industry level.\u00a0 Common challenges that struck a chord amongst the group included employee retention, gender diversity, career progression and workplace flexibility.<\/p>\n<p>What the discussion highlighted to me was that the employee value proposition (EVP) has never been more important in a candidate short market.\u00a0 The EVP continues to be an evolving story for HR decision makers within our industry.\u00a0 It was clear that it is simply not enough to differentiate yourself as an organisation by appealing to potential and existing staff at a level of remuneration or role title alone.\u00a0 The consensus around the table was that those organisations who can create, demonstrate and communicate an EVP that offers diversity and inclusion will be best positioned to attract and retain the best talent on the market.<\/p>\n<p>Many of the \u2018people\u2019 challenges faced by organisations are of a similar nature, however it was evident that there can be no cookie cutter approach to improving staff retention, engagement and satisfaction.\u00a0 Each organisation is unique and is driven by its own set of values.\u00a0 These organisational values must resonate with all connected to it beginning from the recruitment stage.\u00a0 It seems that the organisations who can consistently get most of their people on \u2018the same bus\u2019 over a longer period of time will give themselves the best chance of reaching their destination in a healthier state.<\/p>\n<p>I welcome feedback from those who participated in Kaizen Recruitment\u2019s HR round table and invite expressions of interest from those interested in attending the next one.<br \/>\nBest Regards<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chris Goulas<\/strong> &#8211; Associate Director<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans', sans-serif; font-style: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Kaizen Recruitment specialises financial services recruitment across funds management, wealth management, superannuation, investment consulting and insurance.
