RMBL Investments is a specialist mortgage investment and funds management business with over 65 years of experience providing timely, tailored finance solutions to borrowers and attractive investment opportunities for a loyal investor base. With a strong focus on risk management, transparency, and sustainable returns, RMBL plays a critical role in Australia’s property finance ecosystem.


CHALLENGE: A Strategic Leadership Hire

As part of a broader leadership renewal and growth strategy, RMBL identified the need to appoint a Chief Investment Officer, reporting directly to the CEO. This position would be responsible for leading the capital raising strategy, developing and managing investor relationships, and ensuring ongoing compliance, risk governance, and service excellence across investor operations.

The ideal candidate would combine proven experience in investor relations, deep networks across HNWIs, wealth managers, and family offices, leadership capability, and strong alignment with RMBL’s values. Given the dual focus on strategic capital raising and operational leadership, the role required a unique blend of commercial acumen, relationship expertise, and hands-on execution experience in private capital markets.


SOLUTION: Kaizen’s Executive Search Expertise

Kaizen Recruitment was engaged to lead the executive search process. Leveraging our expertise in executive search across the funds management industry, we delivered a targeted and confidential search, which included:

  • Market mapping of senior capital raising and investor relations talent across property finance, private debt, funds management, and private equity;
  • Engaging a curated shortlist of candidates with a proven track record in building investor networks and leading high-performance teams;
  • Rigorous assessment of candidate fit across technical, leadership, and cultural dimensions in close consultation with the CEO and Executive team.

We concurrently ran a comprehensive and targeted market search, mapping the entire domestic funds management sector while proactively and discreetly engaging with senior investment and distribution leaders across the private credit market.

We presented a curated shortlist of eight highly qualified investment professionals with demonstrated experience in capital raising and people leadership across private debt.

Working closely with RMBL’s executive leadership team (CEO, Chairman and Head of People and Capability), we led a precise and efficient search, assisting with interviews, reference checks, and final negotiations to secure the ideal candidate.

As part of our research, we also gathered comprehensive market data on salaries and bonus structures to support the offer negotiation process.


OUTCOME: A Transformative Appointment

Through this process, Isobelle Jones was successfully appointed as Chief Investment Officer.

Isobelle brings a wealth of experience in private capital raising, investor relations, and executive leadership. Prior to joining RMBL, she held senior roles at CVS Lane Capital Partners, where she managed key relationships with family offices, HNWIs, and wealth platforms. Her background also spans leadership and general management roles in growth-stage businesses, reflecting strong commercial instincts and entrepreneurial drive.

Isobelle’s appointment strengthens RMBL’s leadership team at a pivotal time in its evolution. She is already playing a key role in expanding RMBL’s capital base, enhancing investor engagement, and supporting the business in delivering long-term value to both borrowers and investors.
